Nike Shox TL Sunrise
Nike Shox is a support feature in several of Nike's flagship sneakers, first released in 2000. The design is an arrangement of primarily hollow polyurethane pillars in the midsole that support the shoe's heel. Most models include four circular pillars in a square formation to provide stability. Later variations sometimes added additional columns or changed to triangular or rectangular formations.
In 1984, designer Bruce Kilgore began researching the design of the Shox project. Inspiration for the shoe is said to have come from watching indoor track sprinters who appeared to bounce after hitting the track surface. Nike developers experimented with many materials that were unable to provide adequate support to the runner and only returned a small portion of the energy to the runner after impact with the ground. Ultimately, polyurethane was developed as the key component of the system.

Start by thoroughly cleaning your sneakers inside and out. Remove the insoles and clean the bottom if possible. Ensure sneakers are completely dry within 8 hours to prevent mold. How do I prep my sneakers before painting them?
Before painting your sneakers for a custom or restore project, it's crucial to clean the leather and remove the surface finish – even if the sneakers are brand new!
Use acetone or our Sneaker Preparer cleaner on a cotton pad. If you skip this step, the paint won’t stick and will flake off quickly.
Be careful if the leather is already painted – acetone can dissolve paint and damage details. If in doubt, visit our store for help or recommendations.
How do I remove marks and discoloration from the sole that can't be cleaned off?
Acetone is your best friend here – it helps remove tough stains on plastic, rubber, and leather. But be careful! Acetone can remove color and sometimes damage materials. Test a small area first before using more. You can buy acetone cheaply at Matas or hardware stores.
How do I prevent creases?
Shoe trees are the best solution for preventing creases and folds. For extra protection, use sneaker shields (crease protectors). However, sneaker shields are not a full replacement for shoe trees. We recommend using both for optimal protection of your favorite sneakers.
Can I machine wash my sneakers?
Fabric sneakers can usually be machine-washed with good results. Sneakers in other materials can be washed too, but with caution as it may damage them.
Remove insoles and laces, and wash them together with the sneakers and towels (same color) to avoid damage, or place them in a separate mesh bag.
Use a small amount of detergent and wash at max. 30°C. Higher temperatures can damage materials and dissolve glue on the soles.
Never use a dryer! Let them dry thoroughly within 8 hours to avoid odor. Moldy shoes are difficult to restore.
